On November, 7 the forum "When are we going home?" took place, which was attended by participants from all over Ukraine.

Within the event, many important issues related to providing support to children and families in crisis situations were discussed.

Invited guests and experts actively raised questions about the protection of children's rights at the international, national, and local levels.

Representatives of local self-government bodies, specialists from children's services, social work specialists, and representatives of public organizations were involved in the discussion.

After all, only together can we save even more families and return children to their loved ones.

Also, within the framework of the forum, a presentation of the activities of the Municipal Institution "Center for Social Support of Children and Families "Ridni" of the Lviv City Council was held in order to exchange experience and further disseminate the methodology in the field of child care.

In the carousel, we share quotes from the speakers that accurately emphasize the main desire of every child - to grow up in a loving family and be at home.

We are grateful to every participant for your contribution to finding answers to the important question for children: "When are we going home?"

Art Therapy Meeting "Fantastic Creature"

Within the project "Strengthening the capacity of the Family Support Service department" of the "Ridni" Social Support Center of Lviv City Council.

Recently, we conducted an art therapy session for teenagers as part of the project "Strengthening the capacity of the Family Support Service department" of the "Ridni" Social Support Center of Lviv City Council.

During this meeting, teenagers had the opportunity to create their own fantastic creatures, endowing them with unique abilities, special characteristics, and preferences. Together, we drew a shared world where these creatures interacted, communicated, and visited one another.

This meeting became not just a creative process but also an opportunity for teenagers to better understand themselves, their emotions, and interaction with others. And of course, everyone could take their character home to remember this incredible journey into the world of fantasy.

The project is being implemented in cooperation with the "Ridni" Charitable Foundation, the "Children's Service" Department of the Lviv City Council, and the municipal institution "Ridni" Social Support Center for Children and Families of Lviv City Council, with the support of the British Government.

Supervision

We want to tell you about an important service – supervision – which psychologists and social workers at the municipal institution "Ridni" Center of Lviv City Council regularly receive as part of the project "Strengthening the capacity of the 'Family Support Service' department of the 'Ridni' Social Support Center."

Supervision is a method of professional development for psychologists and social workers. It helps them reflect on their interactions with clients and colleagues, improving the effectiveness of these interactions. Through supervision, specialists gain a comprehensive view of their professional activities, challenges, and difficulties, and recognize their own potential, opportunities for growth, and self-organization.

According to supervisor Nataliia Shcherbyna, social specialists work with people whose lives are not going smoothly for various reasons. The municipal institution "Ridni" Social Support Center of Children and Families of Lviv City Council specializes in helping children born to people facing difficult life circumstances. Often, these children lack guidance and life anchors.

"Our task is to help them overcome hardship. Social workers and psychologists work alongside injustice and pain. So, the second task of supervision is to help professionals avoid becoming cynical, indifferent, or inactive due to the pain they witness. Instead, they must remain compassionate and continue being effective partners and helpers," Nataliia adds.

Several supervision sessions have already taken place within the Center’s team. During these sessions, participants formulated their requests and questions. The topics discussed reassured the supervisor that the specialists care about the quality of their work and, most importantly, ask themselves genuine professional questions and seek honest answers.
